RESIDENTS of Kimberley will have access to free medical services when the Ekhaya Second Annual Health Intact Day takes place at Hospital@Ekhaya on Saturday, 7 February 2026. The full-day community health outreach event will run from 9am to 4pm and is aimed at promoting preventive healthcare in a welcoming and supportive environment.

The initiative will bring together healthcare professionals, partner organisations and community members, with a strong focus on early detection, health education, and overall wellness. From early morning, residents will be able to register and undergo free medical screenings, including blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol tests; TB and HIV screening; as well as general wellness assessments.

Qualified nurses, doctors, and counsellors will be available throughout the day to provide basic consultations, guidance, and practical health advice. The programme is designed to ensure that community members not only receive screenings but also leave with a better understanding of their health and the steps needed to maintain it.

Specialist support and emergency medical standby will be provided by Busamed Bram Fischer Hospital and VR Med Emergency Services from Bloemfontein. Lancet Laboratories will assist with pathology services, while the Frances Baard District Department of Health will contribute additional screening resources and professional staff to strengthen the outreach.

Adding to the day’s community focus, Radio Revival FM will broadcast live from the venue, creating awareness and encouraging wider participation. Information stands, food stalls, and health talks are also planned, contributing to an atmosphere that is expected to be friendly and community-centred once again.

Families, youth, and elderly residents are encouraged to attend and make use of the free services. The event highlights the growing partnership between healthcare providers and the Kimberley community, reinforcing Hospital@Ekhaya’s commitment to accessible, affordable, and preventive healthcare.
