Police arrest four in Mothibistad after dagga seizure and drunk-driving bust

Police in Mothibistad seized dagga and arrested three suspect after a tip‑off led to a search in Seoding.

POLICE seized a large amount of dagga and arrested three people in Mothibistad on Sunday, 25 January, during their Safer Festive Season operations.

Acting on a tip-off, officers searched a property in Seoding, Mothibistad, and found dagga with an estimated street value of R26,650.

They also confiscated cash believed to be the proceeds of illegal activity. The arrested suspects are two men, aged 53 and 64, and a 41-year-old woman.

In a separate incident, a 40-year-old man was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.

All four suspects will appear in the Mothibistad Magistrate’s Court soon.

The acting district commissioner of John Taolo Gaetsewe, Brigadier Kenneth Baloyi, praised the officers for their quick action and thanked community members for providing valuable information.

Dagga with an estimated street value of R26,650 was found and cash believed to be the proceeds of crime was confiscated.
