DFA Premier Dr Zamani Saul reshuffles Northern Cape Executive Council

NORTHERN Cape Premier Dr Zamani Saul has announced a series of changes to the provincial Executive Council aimed at strengthening governance and service delivery across the province.

Effective immediately, Ms Nontobeko Vilakazi will take up the portfolio of MEC for Health. Ms Mase Manopole has been reassigned to head the Department of Social Development, Youth, Women and People Living with Disabilities, while Mr Lebogang Motlhaping has been appointed MEC for Agriculture, Environmental Affairs, Rural Development and Land Reform.

In a statement released on Thursday, Premier Saul said the reshuffle reflects the government’s commitment to “building a modern, growing and successful province.” He added that he was confident the new MECs would “serve the people of the Northern Cape with dedication and continue to advance our vision for a prosperous province.”

The Premier wished the appointees well in their new roles and urged all provincial departments to work collaboratively to improve service delivery to citizens. The changes are part of a broader effort to enhance accountability and capacity within the Northern Cape Provincial Government.
