Major drug bust: Upington Border Police seize dagga valued at over R111,000

A 45-year-old man was arrested in Upington on Sunday morning after police seized a large quantity of dagga during a search operation in Paballelo.

According to police, members of the Upington Border Police executed a search warrant at the Paballelo Squatter Camp in the early hours of Sunday, January 11. The search was conducted at approximately 7.30am.

During the operation, officers discovered dagga with an estimated street value of R111,400.80. The suspect was arrested on suspicion of dealing in dagga and is expected to appear in court in due course.

Police said the seizure forms part of ongoing efforts by law enforcement in the Northern Cape to curb drug-related crime in the region.
