THE South African Police Service in Philipstown apprehended two male suspects, aged 28 and 36, years old on suspicion of livestock theft.

Acting on information received on January 11, officers located the men in the vicinity of Lukhanyisweni, Philipstown, in possession of sheep carcasses. The suspects could not provide a satisfactory explanation for the meat, leading to their arrest.

Both individuals have been charged with stock theft and are expected to appear before the Philipstown Magistrates Court. The investigation remains ongoing.

The SAPS in the Pixley Ka Seme district urged the public to avoid purchasing meat from unauthorised sellers and to report suspicious activity via the MYSAPS App or the crime‑stop line 08600 10111.
