THE NORTHERN Cape’s 2025 matric results will be formally unveiled in Kimberley on Tuesday, January 13, when Premier Dr Zamani Saul and MEC for Education Abraham Vosloo host the province’s annual Matric Awards Ceremony.

The event is scheduled to begin at 9.30am at the Old CRC Building and will mark the official release of the National Senior Certificate (NSC) outcomes for the 2025 examination cycle.

A total of 14,210 full-time candidates were registered to sit for the NSC examinations across the province.

In a statement ahead of the announcement, the Department of Education praised the collective effort behind the examination process, commending learners, parents, principals, invigilators and departmental staff for their contribution to what it described as a credible and irregularity-free examination.

“We commend all the learners, parents, principals, invigilators and all the departmental staff for their invaluable support and commitment to ensure a credible NSC examination, free from any irregularities,” the department said.

The department confirmed that a comprehensive technical report, detailing overall performance by district and by school, will be released after the results announcement.

It further noted that the 2025 NSC examinations were conducted under credible conditions, with oversight provided by quality assurer Umalusi. Umalusi confirmed that appropriate systems were in place and that the entire examination process was carried out with integrity.

Tuesday’s Matric Awards Ceremony will not only serve as the platform for the release of the results, but will also recognise the province’s top-performing learners, while acknowledging the collective effort that underpinned a fair and transparent examination cycle.

The event is scheduled to begin at 9.30am at the Old CRC Building and will mark the official release of the National Senior Certificate (NSC) outcomes for the 2025 examination cycle.
