Police seek public’s help in identifying pedestrian killed in Upington hit-and-run

Police are appealing for help to identify a pedestrian killed in a hit-and-run in Upington.

THE POLICE in Upington are appealing to the public for assistance in identifying a male pedestrian who was fatally injured in a hit-and-run accident on Saturday, November 22.

According to reports, the driver was travelling from Olifantshoek to Upington when a pedestrian allegedly jumped into the road with his pants down, causing the collision.

The deceased, estimated to be between 20 and 30 years old, was wearing red short pants and a black T-shirt at the time of the incident.

A case of culpable homicide has been opened, and the police are urging anyone with information to come forward.

The police have also urged motorists to exercise caution when travelling at night.
