Northern Cape police officers honoured for outstanding service

THE Northern Cape Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Koliswa Otola, honoured police officers for their exceptional service during the Annual Provincial Excellence Awards ceremony held on Thursday at the Madiba Hall in Roodepan.

The event, attended by distinguished guests including the MEC for Transport Safety and Liaison, Ms Limakatso Koloi, was a celebration of the outstanding achievements of SAPS members in the province. In her message, Lieutenant General Otola stated that the awards ceremony is a testament to the hard work and sacrifices made by the members of SAPS.

"Your selflessness, professionalism, and passion for policing have earned you this recognition," she said, encouraging recipients to wear the uniform with pride and display discipline at all times.

Lieutenant General Lineo Nkhuoa, Acting Deputy National Commissioner for Human Resource Management, commended the members for ensuring community safety and pledged National Management's support in crime-fighting efforts. "I express my heartfelt congratulations to all recipients and urge members to continue with the outstanding conduct during the upcoming festive season," she said.

MEC Koloi acknowledged the commitment and hard work of the men and women in blue, commending the families of the members for their support and encouragement. "Continue with the good work, without favour or fear," she stated, reiterating that attacks on police officers will not be tolerated.

The event recognised police officers who demonstrated remarkable courage, innovative problem-solving, and dedication to serving and protecting communities in the Northern Cape.

The Provincial SAPS Band provided musical entertainment during the event.

The Award Ceremony was concluded with a special acknowledgement by Lieutenant General Otola to the sponsors for their generous contributions.

A vote of thanks was delivered by the Deputy Provincial Commissioner for Policing, Major General Johnny Besnaar.
