THE CITY of Kimberley shone brightly this past weekend as it hosted the 2nd Annual Miss Pink Diamond event, a dazzling celebration of fashion, empowerment, and community upliftment.
Founded by Mishka Boughan, a talented young ambassador from Kimberley who made headlines after being crowned Miss Preteen Model World in Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic last year, the event has grown into a beacon of hope and inspiration for young girls across the region.
Returning home to crown her successor, Mishka was herself honoured with the title Face of Orlando Fashion Kids 2026, further cementing her status as a rising star in the global fashion scene. Yet, beyond her personal achievements, Mishka’s heart remains firmly rooted in Kimberley, and the Miss Pink Diamond initiative stands as a testament to her passion for giving back.

“This is not just a beauty pageant,” said the organisers. “It’s a fashion summit built on empowerment, creativity, and collaboration.”
In the lead-up to the grand finale, participants took part in a series of workshops designed to boost confidence and inspire leadership among young women. The main event showcased Kimberley’s flair for style and culture, brought to life by an impressive line-up of local businesses, designers, and artists.
Among the key contributors were:
The event received generous support from sponsors and stakeholders including Flamingo Casino, Video Excellence, City Radio, Deputy Speaker Sharifa Ferris, the Office of the Premier, Nedbank, Antonella, Benjamin, CC Riders, Neville Barnes, and Merissa Meyers, whose contributions helped make it possible.
During the event, participants modelled, walked their walk and talked their talk, but there could only be one overall winner, and this year, Melicia Beukes from Postmasburg was selected as the winner, and she didn't walk away empty-handed. No, Melicia walked away with a 0.622 round brilliant diamond set in a special pendant. A prize worthy of her efforts.

In closing, Rene Boughan, owner of the Miss Pink Diamond Organising Committee, expressed heartfelt gratitude to all who contributed to the event’s success.
“Miss Pink Diamond is more than a celebration of beauty and fashion, it’s a platform for growth, unity, and pride in our local talent. We are incredibly proud of Mishka’s achievements and her ongoing commitment to uplifting Kimberley,” said Rene.
As the lights dimmed at Regiment Hall, one message shone brightly: Kimberley’s young dreamers are the city’s true diamonds, and Miss Pink Diamond continues to polish their brilliance for the world to see.
