THE PREMIER of the Northern Cape, Dr Zamani Saul, led a government delegation in a meeting with Kumba Iron Ore CEO Mpumi Zikalala and her team for the ceremonial handover of a 91-hectare land parcel for the Kathu Industrial Park development. The land parcel is estimated to be worth R62 million.

This milestone marks a significant step forward for the Kathu Industrial Park. It unlocks the next phase of development and aligns with the Northern Cape Industrial Corridor Development Framework.

The project will position Kathu as a key hub for adding value to minerals, benefiting the local economy through improved supply chains and industrial growth.

Kumba says that the land donation shows its commitment to growing the local economy in a way that benefits everyone. This move will attract more investment from both government and private companies, helping the industrial park become a hub for diverse industries.

The park will focus on innovation, adding value to local resources, and creating shared prosperity.

This project positions the provincial government to leverage additional partnerships with other key role players through the Northern Cape Economic Development, Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (NCEDA).

The Northern Cape provincial government says it remains committed to working with the private sector to create jobs for the people of the province.
