The Pescodia Primary School in Roodepan was in crisis recently, after unknown individuals vandalised the school’s bathrooms.
Fortunately for the school, the Public Servants Association (PSA) of South Africa, realising that there was a need for the school’s bathrooms to be repaired, stepped in to help.
The Union duly obliged, after being approached for aid, and provided 10 basins, five toilets and associated materials so that the school’s bathrooms could be rendered useful again.
A press statement by the PSA stated that “The PSA, as a Union in the Public Sector, continues to carry out its Corporate Social Investment (CSI) projects as per its Strategic objectives. The CSI projects are a commitment to contribute to societal goals by engaging in or supporting voluntary activities that benefit communities.”
The handing over took place at the school on Thursday, October 30.
The PSA’s statement continued: “The Union is happy to contribute to the school, especially at this time when learners are writing examinations. The Constitution also provides that everyone has a right to be treated with dignity. We wish all learners a peaceful season of examinations and that they all be successful.”
