A devastating helicopter crash occurred on Sunday, October 26, 2025, between Danielskuil and Kuruman in the Northern Cape, claiming the lives of three men aged between 23 and 34 years old. The incident has left the community in shock and mourning.
The private Alouette II helicopter crashed into mountainous terrain on Sunday afternoon at approximately 12:00 near Daniëlskuil and caught fire, according to the Aviation Safety Network. All three occupants died, and the aircraft was destroyed.
The Danielskuil police have opened inquest dockets into the deaths of the three occupants, while the Civil Aviation Authority will conduct a thorough investigation into the cause of the crash.
The identities of the victims have not been released, pending notification of their families. The police are working to piece together the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.
