Kimberley traffic alert: SPU Cycle Challenge road closures

Expect temporary road closures around SPU’s South Campus on Saturday morning for the Vice-Chancellor’s Cycle Challenge.

MOTORISTS in Kimberley are advised to be aware of temporary road closures around the Sol Plaatje University (SPU) South Campus precinct on Saturday, November 8, due to the Vice-Chancellor’s Cycle Challenge.

The closures will be in effect from 5am to noon. Drivers are urged to plan their routes accordingly and exercise patience during this time.

Affected road closures

The following roads around the SPU South Campus Precinct in Kimberley will be closed:

  • Corner of Reservoir Road and Waterworks Street
  • Corner of Waterworks Street and Jacobus Smit Avenue

Affected junctions

  • Reservoir Road and Waterworks Street, crossing over into Jacobus Smit Avenue (The Urban Corner intersection)
  • Gerrit Schouten Way and Mac Dougall Street (Lancet Laboratories intersection)
  • Capitol Way and Memorial Road (Pro Plants/N12 Cape Town Road intersection)
  • Left on Landbou Road/R31 (Kalahari Lodge intersection)
  • Left on R357 and Schmidtsdrift Road (N8/Griekwastad Road intersection)
  • Memorial Road (N12/Cape Town Road) up to Capitol Way (Minerva Gardens Old Age Home)
