The police in Kimberley have confirmed that 32-year-old Amanda Ward, who was allegedly kidnapped on Friday, 03 October 2025, has been found unharmed.
She was reunited with her family on Tuesday, 7 October 2025.
Police expressed appreciation to the community for assistance regarding her safe return.
The incident, which occurred at around 11 pm, cast a dark shadow over the Beaconsfield neighbourhood and has left the community on edge.
According to reports, three armed men wielding knives entered the home where Amanda and her boyfriend were staying. The attackers covered her boyfriend with a blanket and threatened the couple, ordering them to stay quiet while demanding their belongings. Moments later, he reportedly heard the men instruct Amanda to leave with them – and that was the last time she was seen.
The boyfriend was stabbed during the assault, yet he managed to report the incident to the authorities. This led to the immediate launch of a police investigation into both attempted murder and kidnapping, sparking fears over Amanda's safety and well-being.
Detective Warrant Officer Desmond Markgraaff, leading the investigation, had called upon the community to assist in gathering any information.
