As the Festive season approaches, the Kimberley South African Police Service (SAPS) is on high alert to address property-related crimes.
In a recent operation, seven suspects, six men and one woman aged between 25 and 32, were arrested in Beaconsfield for possession of suspected stolen property and business burglary.
The suspects were caught with items believed to belong to a local post office, including stationery valued at approximately R16,000. A preliminary investigation revealed that a break-in had occurred at a post office, and the stolen property was recovered and confiscated.
The SAPS has been working diligently to prevent and combat crimes in the area, particularly during the Festive season. According to the police, the operation was part of their efforts to address prevalent crimes in hotspot areas and reinforce efforts to prevent such incidents during the festive period.
The suspects are expected to face charges in court, and the police are continuing their investigation. The SAPS urges the public to report any suspicious activities or possession of stolen goods, emphasising their commitment to keeping the community safe during this time.
