The programme kicks off on Friday at the school on Church Street with the Annual General Meeting at 18h00, followed by a Meet and Greet at 20h00, giving alumni a chance to reconnect and reminisce.
Saturday promises a full day of activities, starting with a Fun Walk at 7am along the WPHS Memorial Route to Sol Plaatje University. The morning continues with the Annual Solly Hunter Memorial Lecture at 9am, featuring keynote speaker Desiree Brown (nee Appollis). Guests will then have the opportunity to tour Sol Plaatje University at 11am, followed by various class group reunions from 1pm. The day concludes with the Alumni Reunion Function at 7pm at St Cyprian’s Cathedral Hall.
On Sunday, the celebrations wind down with a 7am interfaith Thanksgiving Service at the William & Gwen Rhoda Hall, including refreshments. A final tour of William Pescod follows at 11am before the weekend concludes at noon.
Alumni attendance and participation in the Annual General Meeting of the WPH Alumni Trust are highly valued. The weekend offers a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the history of WPHS and reconnect with fellow graduates.
