The South African National Taxi Council (Santaco) donated school uniforms, cosmetics, and dignity packs to learners in need at Rietrivier Primary School in Ritchie as part of the Presidential School Adoption Program, in celebration of Women's Month.
Santaco President Motlhabane Abnar Tsebe, along with his First Deputy Mazwe Nkonki, Treasurer General Robert Lentsoane, and provincial and local taxi association leaders, as well as the provincial Department of Transport in the Eastern Cape, the school governing body (SGB), and local police, also delivered a message of hope.
Tsebe thanked mothers, grandmothers, guardians, and families who support the taxi industry through their daily use of public transport.
“We are here today not only to give but to listen, to learn, and to reaffirm our role in the broader social development of our communities. These young learners are the future of this nation, and it is our duty as Santaco to stand with them,” he said.
He added that they intended more initiatives across provinces to bridge the gap between industry and communities through meaningful action.
