The Kimberley Harriers Running Club has announced that the much-anticipated Vulture Conservation Trail Run 2025 has been cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances.
While the cancellation is disappointing for both runners and conservation supporters, the club has urged the community to continue contributing to vulture conservation efforts through the Vulpro Adopt-a-Vulture initiative.
As part of this initiative, the Kimberley Harriers will adopt a vulture for the 2025/26 cycle, which they have named Harriers. Supporters are invited to make donations of any amount towards the project. Donors will receive quarterly newsletters, an annual report, and updates on conservation progress, keeping them connected to the important work being done.
The closing date for donations is September 8 2025, and funds can be deposited directly into the Kimberley Harriers’ ABSA account, with the reference “Vulture Project” along with the donor’s name.
For more information or to confirm payments, supporters can email info@kimberleyharriers.co.za or WhatsApp 083 381 9804.
Despite the setback, the Kimberley Harriers remain committed to protecting vultures and ensuring their survival for future generations.
• Meanwhile, the Kimberley Harriers kept their programme running smoothly as club members turned up for Tuesday's Time Trial. Results for Tuesday, August 19 2025 are:
