The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) in the Northern Cape is mourning the loss of one of its beneficiaries, Anna Wildt, who passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, after a scheduled medical assessment in Campbell, in the Pixley ka Seme District.

According to the attending medical practitioner, Dr Madikizela, Wildt collapsed after the assessment and was rushed to a nearby clinic, where she was pronounced dead. Preliminary findings suggest that the cause of death was a severe stroke.

Wildt leaves behind a 23-year-old son who receives a Disability Grant and a 12-year-old daughter who is a Child Support Grant (CSG) beneficiary. Sassa has pledged to support the family, particularly in ensuring the transfer of the CSG for the 12-year-old daughter after Wildt's funeral.

The Pixley ka Seme Sassa team has reached out to the family to offer condolences and support. Additionally, the Department of Social Development in the district will provide psychosocial support services to the family.

Sassa is also providing professional wellness services to staff members who witnessed the incident to help them cope with the tragedy.

Acting Regional Executive Manager, Karabelo Mojanaga, expressed Sassa's heartfelt sympathies to the family and loved ones of Wildt, wishing them strength, comfort, and peace during this difficult time.
