Investigation underway after woman's body found in Kimberley veld

The Kimberley SAPS Serious and Violent Crimes unit is investigating an inquest after the body of a 29-year-old woman was found in the veld behind Beacon Primary School on Monday afternoon.

SAPS Northern Cape spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Sergio Kock said the deceased was found half-naked on August 4 at about 4.30 pm by a six-year-old boy as he was walking in the veld.

He said an autopsy would be performed to determine the cause of death.
