Kimberley man fighting for life after being stabbed mutiple times in brutal group attack

The police are investigating a case of attempted murder after a 35-year-old Kimberley resident was stabbed multiple times.

A KIMBERLEY resident is fighting for his life in hospital following a brutal stabbing incident involving a group of people armed with knives in Colville.

A family member said that Farron Ryan Ebrahim, 35, was stabbed about 20 times by more than 10 people.

“At the time of the incident, he was in Agatha Street on July 26, walking to the shop. An altercation occurred, and he was attacked. We had to rush him to the hospital as he sustained multiple stab wounds. He also suffered blunt force trauma to the head and underwent a seven-hour surgery to save his life,” she said.

She added that he is still receiving medical treatment in high care but is making good progress.

"We are praying that he will make a full recovery. God is merciful." 

No arrests have been made yet.

SAPS Northern Cape spokesperson Sergeant Molefi Shemane said the Kimberley Detective Unit is investigating a case of attempted murder after a 35-year-old man was reportedly stabbed multiple times by a group of people, sustaining serious injuries.

“Anyone with information that can assist the police with the investigation and the arrest of the suspect/s is urged to contact Detective Captain Jones Makame on 082 371 6606, call the SAPS Crime Stop number 08600 10111, or use the MySAPS app. All information will be treated confidentially. The investigation continues,” he added.
