UPDATE: Missing Bolt driver found and arrested in Douglas

A dramatic turn of events has unfolded in the case of missing Bolt driver Simbarashe Chimbowa, 31, who was reported missing by his mother after he was last seen on July 21 2025, at 7pm in Kagisho, Kimberley.

Contrary to initial fears of a potential kidnapping or worse, Chimbowa was found and arrested by the Visible Policing Unit of Douglas SAPS on Monday, July 21, at approximately 11pm.

Chimbowa was apprehended along with two other individuals, Elias Mzonjani, 47 and Believe Chikate, 25, approximately five kilometres outside Douglas on the Kimberley road.

The trio was found in a blue Ford Focus and was arrested for contravening the Immigration Act.

The suspects briefly appeared in the Douglas magistrate's court on Friday, July 25 and the matter has been remanded to July 29 2025, for further investigation.

The vehicle they were travelling in was seized by SAPS.

All information received will be treated with the strictest confidentiality.
