A collaborative effort between the Northern Cape and North West police has led to the arrest of three suspects in connection with a murder that occurred in Kuruman on June 1, 2025. The victim, a 38-year-old male, was fatally shot at Seoding Block A.
Following an intensive investigation, members of the Northern Cape Crime Intelligence, in conjunction with Crime Intelligence in the North West Province, the Mahikeng Tactical Response Team, and the Vryburg Public Order Police, launched a coordinated operation in Ganyesa, North West province.
The operation, which took place between the evening of Monday, June 23, 2025, and the early hours of Tuesday, June 24, 2025, resulted in the arrest of three male suspects, aged 28, 32, and 33, respectively.
During the operation, the team also recovered illegal firearms and ammunition in the suspects' possession. The suspects are expected to appear in court soon, and the investigation remains ongoing.
Northern Cape Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Koliswa Otola, praised the outstanding cooperation between the two provinces, highlighting the critical role of inter-provincial collaboration in ensuring justice is served and holding individuals responsible for serious and violent crimes accountable.
