Determined to tackle litter and restore public spaces, the Sol Plaatje Municipality has rolled out a clean-up campaign in Galeshewe and the Kimberley CBD – aiming to create safer, cleaner streets for both residents and visitors.

In Galeshewe, the municipality's Traffic Department has revived road markings on Hulana Street, a key activity route, to uphold road safety.
Additionally, the Department of Roads and Public Works' Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) workers are cleaning up sidewalks, while the municipality's Cleansing Unit is clearing illegal dumps in front of the historic Galeshewe Stadium.

Meanwhile, in the Kimberley CBD, the municipality's Cleansing Unit street sweepers braved the biting winter cold to remove litter and ensure a clean environment. The team, including Yekiso Mpata, Tshepo Motaung, Tumelo Mocumi, and Maria Mokgoro, worked tirelessly to keep the CBD clean and tidy.
The clean-up campaign underlines the municipality’s determination to restore pride in public spaces and improve everyday living conditions in and around the city.
The clean-up initiative is part of the municipality's ongoing efforts to maintain a high level of service delivery and improve the overall quality of life for its citizens.
