A 32-YEAR-OLD man, Danzil Plaatjies, was sentenced to three years' direct imprisonment by the Douglas Magistrate's Court for housebreaking and theft.
Plaatjies was found guilty on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, after being linked to two housebreaking incidents in Kriel Street, Campbell, which occurred between November 4 and November 14, 2024.
Detective Constable Thembani Makamba of the Campbell SAPS played a crucial role in securing the conviction. He conducted thorough investigations, recovered stolen property, and successfully opposed bail, ensuring the accused remained in custody until the matter was finalised.
The Pixley Ka Seme District Management has praised Constable Makamba for his dedication and excellent investigative work, which has led to the removal of a perpetrator of property-related crimes from society.
This successful conviction is a testament to the SAPS's commitment to fighting crime and ensuring justice is served.
