THE SOL Plaatje Municipality has confirmed that water supply has been restored to high-lying areas in Kimberley following a brief disruption caused by a power outage early on Wednesday morning.

According to municipal spokesperson Thabo Mothibi, both pumps at the Newton Reservoir are now back in operation, allowing water supply to resume across affected suburbs.

Water had initially been restored at 4am after a five-day planned water shutdown. However, a city-wide power outage on Wednesday morning temporarily halted the flow to some areas.

Residents experiencing continued supply issues are urged to report faults by calling the municipal Call Centre at 080 122 9010.
