A widespread power outage has affected large parts of Kimberley, with preliminary reports suggesting a Voltage Transformer explosion at the Herlear Substation may be the cause.

Executive Mayor Martha Bartlett is overseeing the response efforts and has apologised for the inconvenience. "We appreciate the public's patience and cooperation during this time," she said.
