THE SOL Plaatje Municipality has issued a public warning urging residents not to pay for water from relief tankers, following reports of some suppliers demanding payment for the emergency service.

The municipality stated that the distribution of water during the planned shutdown is free of charge, and any requests for payment are unacceptable.

📢 What to do:

  • Refuse to pay if approached for money in exchange for water
  • Report the incident to the municipal Call Centre at 080 122 9010, and include the truck’s registration number

Residents are encouraged to remain vigilant and help ensure that the water relief process is fair and accessible to all.
