WHILE bulk pipeline repairs continue this weekend, Sol Plaatje Municipality’s Waterworks teams have also been hard at work on critical pipe and valve replacements across Kimberley.

According to the municipality’s Communications Unit, an old and corroded 315mm steel pipe in Phakamile Mabija Road, near Sammy’s, is being replaced. The pipe has been the source of recurring leaks and supplies water to De Beers, Kimberley North, and parts of the CBD.

Additional repair work this weekend includes the installation of a new valve in Beaconsfield on Saturday, ongoing pipe replacement in Colville’s St Pauls Road, and a valve replacement in Ramatshela Street, Retswelele, as part of the scheduled work.

Stay with the DFA for ongoing updates throughout the shutdown.
