Update: Water supply interruption - Repairs under way

UPDATE: RIVERTON WATER TREATMENT PLANT AND NEWTON RESERVOIRS PUMPS SWITCHED OFF

Current Status: Our maintenance team has disconnected cables from the transformer, and repair and reconnection are underway. We expect completion by 22:00.
Cause: An electrical cable fault at the Highlift Pump station at the Riverton Treatment Plant has necessitated the shutdown. The Newton Reservoirs' pumps have also been switched off to prevent draining the dams to critical levels, which could lead to water shedding or prolonged supply interruptions.
Apology: We apologise for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding as we work to restore normal operations.
