AT JUST 13 years old, Kimberley’s own Mishka Boughan has captured not only crowns but hearts across the world. The reigning Miss Pre-Teen Model World 2024 is more than just a pageant queen — she is a powerhouse of talent, compassion and inspiration.
Mishka began her modelling journey at the tender age of four and has since become a familiar face on both the provincial and national pageant circles. But 2024 was the year she truly leapt into the global spotlight. After being crowned Miss Pre-Teen Universe South Africa, Mishka jetted off to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic, where she clinched the prestigious international Miss Pre-Teen Model World title.
This international recognition, however, is just one part of a dazzling résumé.
A multi-talented Mishka is a high achiever not only in modelling but also in sports, public speaking and academics. She excels in netball, cricket and field athletics and has proudly represented her district in cricket. Her all-round talent earned her a full scholarship - a testament to her unwavering dedication in everything she does.
“My love for modelling is deep,” says Mishka, “but I also have a huge passion for sport, and it teaches me discipline and confidence.”
Her ability to juggle her diverse interests with poise is perhaps what sets her apart.
Earlier last year, Mishka graced the runway at Milan Fashion Week, walking for renowned designer Elsa Fairy. Her flair for fashion is matched only by her love of travel - a love she indulged when she joined her family in New York to support her younger sister’s dancing talents. These opportunities have allowed her to showcase her international title while flying the South African flag high.
Mishka’s goals extend beyond personal glory. She is deeply committed to giving back. As part of her reign, she has used her platform to engage in numerous community upliftment projects. She has co-hosted several regional initiatives, including Northern Cape Show Your Talent, Miss Pink Diamond, Passion into Action Women Empowerment, Mr and Miss/Teen Kimberley, Face of Northern Cape, and the Mother and Daughter Extravaganza.
In her words, “It’s not just about the sash and crown. It’s about what you do with it.”
Her heart beats for the less fortunate. Through various initiatives, she donates school supplies and uniforms to children in need, ensuring they too have the tools to pursue their dreams. Her acts of kindness are more than symbolic gestures - they are powerful reminders that one small act can ignite hope.
Now preparing to return to the Dominican Republic in 2025 to hand over her crown, Mishka will open the Mini Model World event with a performance of a song by beloved Spanish artist Esa Diva - a role she embraces with pride and excitement.
“I want to thank my city, Kimberley, and my province, the Northern Cape, for their unwavering support during my reign,” Mishka said. “Without them, none of this would be possible.”
A passionate advocate for education in sports, arts and culture, she continues to collaborate with women empowerment initiatives and promote the value of education both in and beyond the classroom. She’s not just shaping her own path - she’s lighting the way for others to follow.
With her sights now set on one day bringing home the Miss World or Miss Universe title for South Africa, Mishka is already laying a strong foundation. Her journey is not only a source of pride for Kimberley and the Northern Cape but also a beacon of hope for young girls across the continent.
As she continues to build her legacy, Mishka Boughan reminds us all of the extraordinary impact that can come from passion, purpose, and a heart committed to serving others. She is, without a doubt, one of Africa’s brightest young stars - and her story is only just beginning.
