Sassa sets record straight: June payment dates and fake news alert
Sassa has announced the grant payment dates for June 2025.

THE SOUTH African Social Security Agency (Sassa) has released the payment schedule for June 2025, while also dismissing false claims on social media suggesting that beneficiaries will receive double payments.
The grant payment dates for June are as follows:
- Older persons: June 3, 2025
- Disability grant: June 4, 2025
- Children’s and all other grants: June 5, 2025
Beneficiaries can access their grants through direct bank deposits, their Sassa cards, or by collecting them at authorised pay points.
For safety reasons, Sassa encourages beneficiaries not to withdraw all their funds at once.
No double payments in June
Sassa spokesperson Paseka Letsatsi debunked rumours of double grant payments in June, stating that these reports are false and causing unnecessary panic among beneficiaries.
According to Letsatsi, grant increases were announced in the Ministry of Finance's Policy Statement in March, and the next official increase is scheduled for October.
"We urge our beneficiaries to disregard any reports of double payments in June," Letsatsi said. "Only credible authorities announce official changes, and any other claims should be treated as false."
