WARRENTON Combined School Grade 12 pupil Kutlawano Picho was awarded a bursary to study a course of her choice through ATTI College.
Founder of Bokamoso Foundation non-profit company (NPC), Teboho Mokoena said they partnered with ATTI Kimberley over the past three years to dedicate resources towards education and skills development.
"We understand that not all learners have the opportunity to secure bursaries to study at top universities. To help bridge this gap, we have committed to providing at least one student each year with a stepping-stone opportunity to study with us. This allows them to gain valuable skills and potentially advance to university-level education. Over the past two years, we have awarded two bursaries—our first recipient was Mildred Masaseng from William Pescod High School."
He added that Kutlwano Picho from Warrenvale Combined School was the lucky pupil to receive the 2026 bursary.
"This will allow her to further her studies at ATTI College. The tuition covers the cost of her tuition and books. "
He said they recently held a district career exhibition at William Pescod High School to guide pupils in choosing their study options and careers.
"It was incredibly rewarding to witness firsthand how pupils became inspired as exhibitors shared their knowledge."
Mokoena indicated that exhibitors included ATTI College, Government Communication Information Systems (GCIS), the National Youth Development Agency, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, the Auditor General of South Africa and Sanlam.
"Participating schools included William Pescod High School, Warrenvale Combined School, !Xhunkwesa Combined School, Dikgathlong High School, Banksdrift High School, Kimberley Boys' High School and Kimberley Girls' High School."
He added that they planned to expand their network of exhibitors, introduce focused career workshops and follow-up through mentorship or digital platforms.
"By tracking outcomes and staying connected with participants, we aim to ensure that the impact extends far beyond the event day. Ultimately, this is not just a once-off experience—it’s the beginning of a larger journey in youth development and career readiness. We remain dedicated to empowering students to achieve their dreams," Mokoena stated.
