PORT NOLLOTH – A tight-knit Northern Cape community has been left rattled after 24-year-old Daveline Lienkie Britz disappeared under mysterious circumstances earlier this month.
According to Northern Cape police spokesperson Colonel Cherelle Ehlers, Britz was last seen on the evening of Saturday, April 12, around 8.30pm in Staff Street, Port Nolloth. Dressed in a black jacket, slippers, and sweatpants, she simply vanished - leaving behind a trail of unanswered questions and growing concern.
Despite efforts by local authorities, no sign of her has emerged, and the police have now intensified their search, urging anyone who may have seen something that night - or knows where Daveline might be - to come forward.
Family, friends, and residents have been gripped with worry and frustration as the days pass with no updates. The absence of any clear leads has fuelled speculation in town, where many hope this isn’t another case that slips through the cracks.
The police have reminded the public that there is no waiting period to report a missing person and are encouraging swift action and information sharing to help bring Daveline home.
Anyone with details that could assist the investigation is urged to contact Constable Humphrey Molefe at 082 495 5292, the SAPS Crime Stop line at 08600 10111, or use the MySAPS app.
