PREMIER Zamani Saul is leading a delegation from the Northern Cape to attend the 14th Annual Investment Meeting (AIM) in Abu Dhabi from April 5 to 10.
He is being accompanied by the MEC for Finance, Economic Development and Tourism, Venus Blennies-Magage, and other senior government officials.
The spokesperson for the Office of the Premier, Naledi Gaosekwe, said the congress is regarded as the world’s leading investment platform, aimed at creating investment opportunities and fostering international economic relations.
"This is in line with the provincial government’s quest to attract investment to the Northern Cape, in an effort to grow its economy,” she said.
"The team from the Northern Cape will participate in the different sessions taking place over three days, ensuring that the world recognises the Northern Cape as South Africa’s new growth front."
Gaosekwe added that the MEC for Co-operative Governance, Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs (Coghsta), Bentley Vass, was sworn in as the acting Premier by Deputy Judge President Mmathebe Phatshoane.
