Community members have called for murder accused Daniel Louw to remain in custody.

THE GRANDSON charged with the brutal murder of his 76-year-old grandmother in Chris Hani Park, Galeshewe, will be sent for further psychiatric evaluation.
The deceased was found on the dining room floor of her home, where her head had been decapitated, on January 24.
Daniel Louw appeared for the crime in the Kimberley Magistrate’s Court on April 1.
His legal representative previously informed the court that Louw had “heard voices”, while his aunt testified that the family suspected he had been using drugs since October 2024.
National Prosecuting Authority regional spokesperson Mojalefa Senokoatsane said the accused underwent a one-day mental observation on March 26.
“The psychiatric report indicated that the accused must undergo 30 days of mental evaluation. He remains in custody,” said Senokoatsane.
The matter was postponed until May 19.
