Sassa confirms April payment dates - here’s when to collect your grant

THE SOUTH African Social Security Agency (Sassa) has confirmed the official grant payment dates for April 2025 - giving millions of beneficiaries across the country time to plan ahead and avoid last-minute stress and delays.

Payments will once again follow the staggered system, helping to ease long queues at paypoints and ATMs. Grant recipients are urged to stick to their scheduled dates and use their preferred payment channels - whether that’s a Sassa card, direct bank deposit, mobile wallet, or cash from participating retailers.

Here’s the April 2025 payment schedule:

🧓 Older Person's Grants: Thursday, April 3 (includes any grants linked to these accounts)

♿ Disability Grants: Friday, April 4 (includes any grants linked to these accounts)

👶 Children's Grants: Saturday, April 5

Sassa has reminded beneficiaries to double-check that their cards are still valid and that their personal details are correctly captured in the system. Delays can still occur for those with expired cards or incomplete applications, so now is the time to fix any issues.
