THE NORTHERN Cape MEC for Agriculture, Environmental Affairs, Rural Development and Land Reform, Mase Manopole, will hand over the Presidential Employment Stimulus (PES) Package, at the Agricultural Hub (Heuningvlei) in Kuruman, John Taolo Gaetsewe District, on Monday.
Department spokesperson Stephen Galane said the initiative would support subsistence farmers and agricultural workers across the province.
“The PES programme is designed to bolster household food security, enhance agricultural productivity, and create employment opportunities. It is being implemented across all five districts of the Northern Cape, reinforcing efforts to strengthen local food production and economic resilience,” said Galane.
He added that beneficiaries would receive production inputs, including vegetable seeds, poultry (layers and broilers), small stock and large stock.
“The programme prioritises women, youth, people with disabilities, child-headed households and military veterans, ensuring equitable access to agricultural opportunities,” Galane said.
