Several young art students had their designs brought to life as scarves at this year’s annual Investec Cape Town Art Fair at the Cape Town International Convention Centre this past weekend. The students represent the Lalela non-profit arts education programme for at-risk youth in Hout Bay. “Our Lalela scarves were on sale at the lapel booth at the art fair, and all proceeds go directly into the Lalela programme,” said founder Firdous Hendricks. "What does social cohesion mean to you?" was the theme of Lalela's exhibition, and visitors were encouraged to jot down their thoughts on this topic on colourful sticky notes to be added to a collage.
