THE UPINGTON Vehicle Crime Investigation Unit is on the hunt for suspects linked to two separate carjacking and armed robbery cases that took place in the Postmasburg area in recent months.
According to Northern Cape police spokesperson Sergeant Omphile Masegela, the incidents occurred in November and December 2024, with the victims allegedly being held at gunpoint and robbed of their valuables, including bank cards that were later used to withdraw cash at local ATMs.
Following intensive investigations, the police have obtained surveillance footage of the suspects and are now appealing to the public for assistance in identifying them.
Sergeant Masegela urged community members to assist with any information that could lead to the arrest of these individuals. However, members of the public should not approach them, as they could be dangerous, he cautioned.
Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the investigating officer, Warrant Officer Christoffel Van Zyl, at 076 016 4252 or submit an anonymous tip via the MySAPS app.
“All information will be treated confidentially,” Sergeant Masegela assured.
