A brutal home invasion on Silverglen Drive in Chatsworth, south of Durban, left one man dead and another in critical condition in the early hours of Thursday morning.
Garrith Jamieson, director of ALS Paramedics, confirmed that emergency teams responded to the incident just before 4am.
“Paramedics arrived on the scene to find SAPS already in attendance and were guided into a house where they found two patients who had sustained gunshot wounds,” Mr Jamieson said.
A man in his 40s had suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the chest. “Unfortunately, there was nothing paramedics could do for him, and he was declared deceased on the scene.”
A second victim, a man believed to be in his 60s, sustained a gunshot wound to his lower body and was in critical condition. Paramedics worked to stabilise him before transporting him to a nearby hospital for urgent medical care.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear at this stage. SAPS has launched an investigation into the attack.
