A SKILLS and training chamber has been established by members residing in Pescodia, Roodepan and Lethabo Park to train residents in clothing design and manufacturing.

The secretary of the South Africa CMT Training & Skills Chamber group, Junine Norman, said they would hold design and pattern-making workshops to equip tailors and seamstresses with skills to create their own designs.

“We will train people to design their own clothing lines and signature brands thereby creating job opportunities,” said Norman.

“We are also looking forward to opening a clothing factory in the future, to open doors and show off the rich talents of the Diamond City and the Northern Cape.”

Norman said that anyone who wished to join the forum could contact her on 065 348 2412 or Elton Norman on 081 8400 240.
