THE NEW Global Internal Audit Standards (GIAS) will be introduced during a national roadshow on Friday at Sol Plaatje University in Kimberley.

The regional governor of the Institute of Internal Auditors South Africa (IIASA) in the Northern Cape, Tshepiso Makhorole, described the event as a valuable platform for engagement and information sharing.

“This face-to-face interactive discussion will focus on the introduction and implementation of the new Global Internal Audit Standards, providing valuable insights into how these changes will impact both the public and private sectors,” said Makhorole.

“The panellists for the event will feature prominent internal audit experts, such as chief audit executives, audit committee members, and officials from the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA). We are also expecting municipal support representatives from the Provincial Treasury, members of the IIA Northern Cape regional committee and the internal auditors of the Northern Cape from all sectors and spheres of government to be in attendance.

“This is an essential event for internal audit professionals and stakeholders in the region, offering a platform for knowledge-sharing, networking, and practical advice on navigating the new standards.”
