Mayor Geordon Hill-Lewis visited Manenberg last Thursday with Law Enforcement, and traffic officers who stopped motorists to check their driver licences, the roadworthiness of their vehicles and whether they had any outstanding warrants.
Officers impounded this car for being “unroadworthy”. Traffic officers executed 152 warrants to the value of R349 860 during the operation. Thirty-three motorists were arrested for outstanding warrants and released on a warning, while three others were taken into custody for their outstanding warrants. Officers also issued 379 traffic fines for various transgressions, totalling R255 803.Mayor Geordon Hill Lewis with a crime-spotting drone that was deployed during his visit.
