THE SPRINGBOK police made significant headway in the fight against drugs with the arrest of four suspects and the seizure of illicit substances worth over R181,000 in Nababeep.
According to Northern Cape police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Sergio Kock, members of the Springbok SAPS Public Order Police, B-Platoon, conducted raids on suspected drug houses in Nababeep.
Kock said the operation took place on July 25, at around 8.40pm. During the search of a premises, the police confiscated crystal meth (tik) with an estimated street value of R139,500, dagga worth around R5,475, and mandrax valued at about R36,060. Additionally, an undisclosed amount of cash, suspected to be proceeds from drug dealing, was also seized.
Four men aged between 22 and 43 were arrested on drug dealing charges and are due to appear in the Springbok Magistrate's Court soon.
Kock emphasised that tackling drug-related crimes remains a top priority for law enforcement in the Northern Cape. The police will continue to intensify their efforts to curb drug dealing and protect the community.
