Crime Intelligence nabs suspected drug dealer in Rosedale

A RECENT operation by the SAPS Crime Intelligence unit in the ZF Mgcawu District, in conjunction with the Upington Border Police, resulted in a significant drug bust in Rosedale.

Northern Cape police spokesperson Colonel Cherelle Ehlers reported that, acting on credible information received by Crime Intelligence, the team swiftly executed a tactical operation at an address in Rosedale on July 19. The focus of the operation was the purported storage of drugs at the identified premises.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a female suspect on the property. In her presence, a thorough search was conducted, leading to the discovery and seizure of dagga with an estimated street value of R42,525.

The 48-year-old woman was promptly arrested for dealing in drugs.

Northern Cape provincial commissioner Lieutenant-General Koliswa Otola commended the collaborative efforts of law enforcement and urged community members to continue reporting drug-related activities.

By working together, Otola pointed out, we can eradicate drugs from our Province and and ensure that dealers are brought to book.
