Student’s journey inspires community
NONTOBEKO Madonsela, a Noupoort community member, has recently returned from Hanze University in the Netherlands, where she participated in a winter workshop as an exchange student.
Having completed her final year of B Health Sciences Radiography at the Central University of Technology, Bloemfontein, Madonsela's journey is a true testament of perseverance and determination, offering inspiration to others in her community.
As a beneficiary of the Noupoort Wind Farm's bursary programme, Madonsela faced financial constraints and limited resources during her nearly decade-long pursuit of higher education.
Despite the obstacles, she was driven by her lifelong passion for the health-care field and she applied for funding to study at the Central University of Technology, Free State, and secured the Noupoort Wind Farm bursary in her final year of studies in 2023.
Expressing gratitude for the support, Madonsela said the bursary helped ease her burden.
"The bursary made things a lot easier for me and my studies, and the financial support helped to ease a heavy burden off my shoulders.
“Similarly, the wind farm funded my subsistence allowance for this trip, which made it possible for me to enjoy my trip to the fullest," added Madonsela.
In a message to the youth of Noupoort, Madonsela encouraged them to work hard in order to achieve their dreams.
"Your future is literally in your hands. The hard work and dedication you sow will be reaped as a success story for future generations to come."
