IT IS BELIEVED that a council meeting where motions of no confidence will be handed in motivating for the removal of the mayor and Speaker at Phokwane Municipality may be disrupted on Thursday.

The Phokwane Service Delivery Forum and the Forum 4 Service Delivery will be putting forward a motion of no confidence in the mayor, Tebogo Afrika, and the Speaker, Portio Selogilwe.

The two parties stated that the officials were failing to deliver services to the community, where Pampierstad and Hartswater have been without water for weeks at a time while there are frequent sanitation problems.

Forum 4 Service Delivery councillor Neo Pitso said municipal resources were being misused while infrastructure in Valspan, Pampierstad, Ganspan and Hartswater was neglected.

Phokwane Service Delivery Forum councillor Michael Castro Setlhogomi added that they were physically thrown out of council meetings whenever they tried to raise issues affecting their constituencies.

“A complaint was lodged at the South African Human Rights Commission into the water shortages. The pumps do not operate during load shedding and water tanks are being used to provide water to communities as a temporary measure.”
