THE KIMBERLEY police are investigating the murder of Chareen May, 56, whose body was found at her home in Stamford Street on Saturday.
Police spokesperson Sergeant Dikeledi Gopane said that the police had initially opened an inquest docket into her death after a family member discovered her body and alerted the police.
“The inquest docket has since been changed to a murder case. No arrests have been made yet,” said Gopane.
She stated that an autopsy had been conducted to determine the cause of death.
Meanwhile, the National Education, Health and Allied Workers Union (Nehawu) Department of Sport, Arts and Culture branch will hold a memorial service for May at the Mayibuye Multipurpose Centre on Thursday at 12pm.
