The police have opened an inquest into the death of man who was found hanging from a tree in Protea Street in Colville on Friday afternoon.
A family member indicated that they were sitting outside when they noticed the deceased, a few metres from their house.
The deceased’s mother was too traumatised to speak to the media.
Captain Tessa Jansen stated that the Kimberley police attended to the scene at around 3.30pm
“The Kimberley SAPS responded to a complaint of a body hanging in the veld near Protea Street in Colville.
“Upon arrival they found a 31-year-old male dressed in a black tracksuit pants with a grey jacket with a mask on. The identity cannot be revealed until the body has been formally identified.”
She added that the paramedics declared him dead on the scene.
